Swords and Slavery

Drustan and Ceri both live in a sleepy iron age village and neither of them had ever traveled more than a few miles from their home. Then late one night the local druid takes Drustan away to the druid's spiritual home of Ynys Mon where he learns of treacherous plans and sacrifice.

War quickly comes the welsh mountains and Ceri is forced into a desperate flight across the unfamiliar countryside. Before long Drustan and Ceri are taken in chains to distant lands.

The youngsters both end up alone and have to face cruel masters, the fires of Pompeii and gladiatorial combat in the coliseum. Meanwhile the remnants of the druid religion send spies to Rome, convinced that one last sacrifice in the Roman capital can save their way of life.
